Biography

2000-01 (SR): Earned first-team all-Big West honors during his senior season at Utah State… Started all 34 games for the Aggies, averaging a team-high 31.3 minutes per contest… Scored 10.6 points per game, while grabbing 2.9 rebounds and dishing out a team-best 4.1 assists per game… His 4.1 assists per game led the conference… Had the second-most steals on the team with 42, which ranked fifth in the conference… Led the team in scoring in three games during the season, including in back-to-back games at Pacific and versus Idaho as he went for 15 and 21 points respectively… Scored a season-high 22 points at Boise State (2/24) as he went 7-of-12 from the field, 7-of-11 from three-point range and 1-of-1 from the free throw line… Dished out five or more assists in 13 contests, including a season-high 10 assists at UC Santa Barbara (2/15)… Finished the season shooting 47.7 percent (125/256) from the field, 37.3 percent (28/75) from three-point range and 78.8 percent (82/104) from the free throw line.
 
1999-00 (JR): Earned honorable mention all-Big West honors… Averaged 10.0 points and 4.35 assists per game… Shared the team lead for minutes played at 29.6 with Tony Brown… Finished second in the conference with an averaged of 4.35 assists per game, ninth in steals with 1.5, and seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.42… His 11.3 scoring average in the Big West Tournament was second on the team… In the tournament he scored 11 against both Pacific and Nevada and had 12 in the championship game against New Mexico State, while being matched up with Billy Keys, who was the runner-up for Big West Player of the Year honors… Best statistical game of the year was his career-high 24-point outburst in the regular season finale against Boise State… Had a double-double with 10 points and 13 assists against North Texas… Those 13 assists are the fifth most in USU history for a single game, and the most in the Big West Conference in over two years… He recorded five or more assists 16 times during the season, and the Aggies went 14-2 in those games… Also had 51 steals on the year to lead the team, which was also tied for 10thmost in school history for a single season… Early in the year he hit a game-winning three-pointer against Southern California… His 148 assists are seventh in school history for a single-season.
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Was named the co-Most Valuable Player of the West Texas Junior College League in 1998 after averaging 20.2 points, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game… Shot 54 percent from the field and made 35 percent of his three-point attempts… Also hit 71 percent from the free throw line… His team was 11-18 in a highly competitive league… Played football in 1998 and was the team’s leading receiver with five catches for 61 yards.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Averaged 20 points, five rebounds and four steals as a senior… Team was state runner-up his junior year… Was a two-time all-state selection… Also competed in football and track in high school… Won the state championship in both the 100 meters and long jump, while establishing state records in those events.
 
PERSONAL: Born May 7, 1977 in New York, N.Y… Major is interdisciplinary studies in criminal justice and if he doesn’t play basketball after graduation, he would like to work with kids… Likes the outdoors, riding horses, spending time with friends and going to movies… Has a son, Cameron Rock… Son of Linda Watkins.
