Biography

1998-99 SEASON (JR): Made 16 appearances during his first season at Utah State, averaging 2.2 points and 0.5 rebounds in 6.1 minutes per contest… Scored a season-high eight points at Nevada (2/6)… Brought down a season-high three rebounds in USU’s 92-61 win over North Texas (1/28)… Also totaled six assists and a steal on the season… Finished the year shooting 52.9 percent (9-17) from the field, 50.0 percent (4-8) from three-point range and 86.7 percent (13-15) from the free throw line.
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played the 1997 and 1998 seasons at Snow JC… Led Snow in scoring at 15.3 points per game as a sophomore in 1998… Also added 3.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from three-point range… Was a second-team all-region selection… Averaged 13 points per game as a freshman.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a first-team all-state pick his senior year as well as the Region Five MVP… Averaged 18 points per game… His teams played in the state championship game all four years he was there and won the state title his sophomore and junior seasons (1991 and 1992)… Was an all-region football player and also played baseball.
 
PERSONAL: Born Nov. 17, 1974 in East Stroudsburg, Pa… Son of Suzanne Bird and Jeff Fries… Father played football at Arizona… Plans on majoring in business and Spanish… Main hobbies are hunting and fishing.
