2022-23 SEASON (GS): Tied for third on the single-season games played record list after appearing in all 35 games… Averaged 12.0 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 67.0 percent (146-of-218) from the field and 70.0 percent (126-of-180) at the free throw line… Ranked second on the single season-season record list after shooting 67.0 percent from the field… Ranked fifth in the Mountain West with 6.8 rebounds per game, including fourth with 5.29 defensive boards per game… One of four Aggies to have multiple 20-point outings… Scored in double figures 24 times, including six double-doubles… Had a season-best 23 points at Fresno State (Jan. 28)… Had double-figure rebounds six times, including a season-best 15 rebounds twice… Also finished third on the team with 24 blocks… Named the Mountain West Sixth Man of the Year.

BEFORE UTAH STATE: Played in 34 games and made 33 starts at Cal Baptist during the 2021-22 season, averaging 10.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game... Led the Lancers on the glass and ranked second in the Western Athletic Conference in both total rebounds and rebounds per game... Shot 53.3 percent (112-of-210) from the floor and logged the most free throws of anyone on the team, totaling 205 attempts and making 142... Paced the Lancers with a team-best 35 blocks and added 50 assists and 25 steals... Prior to Cal Baptist, Akin played under current USU head coach Ryan Odom at UMBC, appearing in 91 games with the Retrievers and starting in 61... Named to the 2017-18 America East All-Rookie Team and was a member of the all-tournament team... Scored the opening basket in UMBC’s historic NCAA Tournament victory over top-seeded Virginia during the 2017-18 season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Barking Abbey in London, England, in 2017... Named to Team Great Britain for the U-20 European Championships… Competed for his native land in the U-18 European B Division Championships in the summer of 2016... Led Barking Abbey to a league and playoff title in 2016-17... Averaged 10.3 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game during the regular season… Earned MVP honors in the title contest after scoring 28 points and collecting 14 rebounds… Named the Academy League Most Valuable Player in the Elite Academy Basketball... Ranked No. 3 in England in the high jump… Competed in handball for his country in Denmark.

PERSONAL: Son of Rufus and Yemi Akin... Earned a bachelor's degree in sociology at UMBC and master's in kinesiology at Cal Baptist... Currently pursuing a second bachelor's degree in agricultural systems technology.
