Biography

2001-02 SEASON (SR): Was a major contributor for the Aggies during his senior season, as he started in 29 games while appearing in all 31… Was named to the honorable mention all-Big West team as he had 12 double-figure scoring games while averaging 8.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 20.7 minutes per game… Was the second-most efficient shooter on the team, finishing the season at 57.8 percent (111/192) from the field… Shot 10-of-12 from the field and 5-of-8 from the free throw line to score a career-high 25 points in the Aggies’ win over Cal Poly (2/2), while also grabbing eight rebounds and two steals… Had 10 or more rebounds on three occasions, with one double-double… Grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds against CS Northridge (12/20), then repeated with another 11 rebound outing against Idaho State (12/29)… Had a team-high 32 blocks on the season to go along with 12 steals.
 
2000-01 SEASON (JR): Appeared in all 34 games, averaging 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 12.8 minutes off the bench… Finished third on the team with 23 blocks… Shot 51 percent from the field… Best game of the year came on national television against Long Beach State, scoring 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting and grabbing six rebounds… Also scored in double-figures against Albany and Cal State Fullerton in the first-round of the Big West Tournament with 10 points in each contest… Set a new Gossner Foods Classic record with five blocked shots in the tournament and tied the single-game record in the tournament with four blocked shots against Albany… Played a season-high 21 minutes against UC Irvine… Played at least 10 minutes in 25 games.
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Was a second-team all-Coast Conference player his sophomore season at Canada College in Redwood, Calif… As a sophomore, he shot 53 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free-throw line… He averaged 12.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game… Prior to playing at Canada, Vague spent one season at Pepperdine, where he played four games.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a two-time Most Valuable Player for San Marcos High School in San Diego… During his senior year he averaged 23.0 points and 17.0 rebounds… He still holds school records for blocked shots, and is second all-time in scoring in school history.
 
PERSONAL: Born June 4, 1979 in Escondido, Calif… Majoring in liberal studies… One of five children of Keith and Mary Vague.
