Biography

1997-98 SEASON (SR): Was named to the all-Big West second team his senior season, after starting 32 games and averaging 15.3 points per game, second most on the team… Earned Big West all-Tournament honors after going for 14.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game during the tournament and helping the Aggies to a conference title… Ranked third on the team with 6.3 points and second with 2.2 assists per game… Reached double- figure scoring totals in 30 games, including six 20-plus point performances… Went for a career-high 27-point performance in USU’s 91-88 overtime win at Cal Poly (1/15) as he shot 10-of-17 from the field, 1-of-2 from three-point range and 6-of-8 from the free throw line to go along with nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal… Followed that performance up with a 25 point outing at UC Santa Barbara (1/17) on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and 9-of-12 shooting from the free throw line to go along with four rebounds, two assists and four steals… Played 1,113 minutes on the season, fourth most for a single season in program history… Recorded four double-doubles, reaching 10-plus rebounds four times including a season-high 11 rebounds against Brigham Young (11/29) and Idaho (1/24)… Ranked second on the team with 21 steals, which ranks sixth most in a single season in program history… Had a career-high six assists versus Long Island (12/20)… Shot 73.4 percent (149-203) from the free throw line, while his 149 free throw made rank eighth all-time in a single season at USU.
 
1996-97 SEASON (JR): Became a starter late in the season and started 11-of-29 games… His 10.5 scoring averaged was third on the team as was his 5.8 rebounding average… Led the team in steals with 42 and blocks with nine… Shot 49.0 percent from the field and 73.4 percent from the free throw line… Scored in double-figures in 13 games… Best scoring game was a 22-point game on 8-of-10 shooting against Cal State Fullerton… Grabbed at least 10 rebounds in four different games, including season highs of 12 against Pacific and UC Irvine… Recorded double-doubles against Humboldt State (18 points and 10 rebounds) and UC Irvine (10 points and 12 rebounds).
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Averaged 15.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game as a sophomore at Midland (Texas) Junior College in 1996… Was named the Most Valuable Player of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference and earned honorable mention All-America honors… Shot 52.2 percent from the field as a sophomore… Started 32-of-37 games as a freshman and averaged 10.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3.4 steals per game… Earned his team’s Defensive Player of the Year honors as a freshman.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned all-state honors as well as being named first-team all-city and all-region and being tabbed the conference Most Valuable Player as a prep senior… Was a first-team all-city pick and the conference MVP as a junior… Averaged 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists his senior season.
 
PERSONAL: Born July 5, 1975 in San Antonio, Texas… Majoring in sociology… Would like to play professional basketball somewhere and then teach and coach… Hobbies include Playstation, golf and tennis… Brother Keith is playing basketball at Paul Quinn College.
