Biography

1995-96 SEASON (SR): Appeared in the first seven games of the season, averaging 24.1 minutes per contest… Made starts against Simon Fraser (11/18), Valparaiso (11/25) and Utah (12/9)… Averaged 6.0 points and 2.6 rebounds per game… Tied a career-high 13 points against Simon Fraser in the season opener as he went 5-of-9 from the field… Finished the year shooting 32.0 percent (16-50) from the field, 18.2 percent (4-22) from three-point range and 100 percent (6-6) from the free throw line.
 
1994-95 SEASON (JR): Played in all 29 games in 1994-95, including two starts (vs. UC Irvine and Lewis-Clark State)… Averaged 5.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game… Ranked second on the team in three-point field goals made (30) and attempted (95)… Hit 85 percent (22-26) of his free-throw attempts… Scored in double-figures in seven games… Can score in bunches, as he proved with 12 points (4-6 three-pointers) in 19 minutes vs. Cal Poly-SLO, 13 points in 17 minutes vs. UC Irvine, 13 points (3-5 three-point shooting) in 14 minutes vs. UC Santa Barbara, 11 points (3-4 from three-point range) in 12 minutes vs. BYU and 10 points in 16 minutes at Boise State… Other double-figure outings included 10 points vs. UNLV and 13 points vs. Long Beach State… Played more than 20 minutes in three games, including a season-high 30 vs. UNLV.
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Earned All-Region 9 and all-league honors as a sophomore at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, Neb., after finishing third nationally in scoring at 27.8 points per game… Also averaged six rebounds, five assists and four steals per game… Shot 51 percent (239-466) from the field, including 43 percent (121-276) from three-point range… Led the Knights to a 22-11 record in 1993-94 and a second-place finish in the region championships… Played his freshman season (1991-92) at Metro State in Denver.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Named to the Nike Prep All-America team as a senior… Also picked up all-state and all-city honors in 1990-91… Led Montbello High School to a combined record of 45-2 (.957) over his last two years, including two undefeated seasons in the Denver Prep League (18-0 records).
 
PERSONAL: Son of Myron Simms Sr. and Juanita Jones… Father Myron Sr. was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 1976, and he later went on to play in the ABA and with the Harlem Magicians… Born April 28, 1973… Majoring in liberal arts and sciences.
