Karl Smith is in his third year as an assistant athletic trainer at Utah State, joining the Aggies after a two-year stint as Samford in Birmingham, Ala., where he worked with the men’s basketball and men’s golf teams. 

Prior to Samford, Smith was an athletic trainer at UT-Dallas, working with the men’s basketball and women’s soccer teams. Smith was a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State from 2013-15, working with the softball and men’s basketball teams. 

Smith graduated from Central Arkansas in 2013, and holds LAT, ATC, Red Cross Professional Rescuer and Graston Certifications. 

Smith and his wife, Angela, have a son, McCoy, and reside in North Logan.
