Andy Magee joins the Utah State Aggies for his first season as the men[apos]s assistant tennis coach. Magee comes to Utah State after a successful run as an assistant coach at Loyola Marymount, helping lead the Lions to a 14-10 record in 2013-14. Prior to his coaching career, Magee was a highly accomplished two-sport collegiate student-athlete. As a fullback for the UCLA football team, Magee experienced a win at the Eagle Bank Bowl in 2009. After his 2009 and 2010 seasons at UCLA, he transferred and played tennis at the University of Maryland. He led the Terps in doubles wins during his time at Maryland, including a 14-7 dual match record for the 2012 spring season. Additionally, Magee was a member of the first University of Maryland tennis team to make the NCAA Tournament, defeating Michigan in the first round. As a junior tennis player, Magee was a member of the USA Junior World Championships Team, consistently ranked among the top five in the nation and reached the quarterfinals in 2005 at the USTA National Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich. In football, Magee was all-state, all-Southern California, all-CIF, all-area first team, and League MVP. He played quarterback in high school, finishing the 2007 season with 3,750 passing yards and 50 passing touchdowns. Magee also saw success in the classroom, achieving the Dean[apos]s List at UCLA and earned academic all-ACC honors while at Maryland. He graduated in 2013 with a bachelor[apos]s degree in English from the University of Maryland.
