Matthew Buckner is in his first year with the Utah State Sports Medicine staff as a Resident Athletic Trainer for the cross country and track and field teams. He came to USU from the University of Montana, where he received a B.S. of Health and Human Performance - Exercise Science and a Master's of Athletic Training. During this time at Montana, Buckner worked extensively with Griz football and track and field, in addition to several orthopedic clinics and high schools throughout the Missoula community. Buckner graduated from Montana in Spring of 2019 and holds LAT, ATC and Graston Certifications.
Buckner was born and raised in Bozeman, Mont. He enjoys exploring around the Logan area with his dog, Phil, in addition to keeping up with all of the college football action.
