Brylee Kelly enters her first season at Utah State after being named assistant coach/recruiting coordinator by head coach Keith Smith in January of 2026.
Kelly joins the Aggies after spending the past season as an assistant coach under head coach Trevor Johnson at Cal Baptist in Riverside, California, where her main roles included recruiting, working with pin attackers and first contact in addition to offensive scouting. Kelly helped the Lancers to a 7-18 record, including a home record of 5-4 with wins over UNLV, CSUF, UT Arlington, Southern Utah, and Abilene Christian. Under Kelly's tutelage, Emery DeJong became the third outside hitter to be named First Team All-WAC while freshman middle blocker Bella Breuer was named to the WAC All-Freshman Team.
Kelly began her coaching career in 2024 as an assistant at Liberty under acting coach Nolan Albrecht. While at Liberty, Kelly primarily worked with pin attackers and middle blockers, running routes and finding scoring opportunities. Kelly helped Kate Gammer and Madison Blane earn all-conference honors during her time there in 2024.
A native of Monee, Ill., Kelly played her college career at Wichita State, leaving the program as one of the most successful players in program history. As an outside hitter, Kelly finished her career with 1,157 career kills, ranking inside the top 10 in the Wichita State career record book. Kelly holds the record for the amount of kills in a 4-set match at 29, along with ranking second for amount of kills in a 5-set match at 29 as well. Kelly was a unanimous first team AAC All-Conference selection during the fall 2021 campaign before adding another first team all-conference honor in 2022. In fall of 2023, she became the first Wichita State volleyball player to be named AAC Preseason Player of the Year. In her final season while battling injury, she helped the Shockers post a 26-8 record and claim an NIVC Championship title.
Also a standout in the classroom, Kelly was a five-time member of the AAC All-Academic Team throughout her six years as a student-athlete. Along with being on the AAC Academic Team, Kelly was on AD Honor Roll each semester.
Kelly graduated from Wichita State in May 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration management and human resource management. In Dec. 2023, she earned her Master of Business Administration degree from WSU.
