Mike Brunsting

Mike Brunsting is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Utah State volleyball team after being hired in May, 2022.

Brunsting joins the Aggies after spending the 2021 season as an assistant coach at William & Mary where he worked with all position groups.

Brunsting began coaching in 2016 as an assistant at Irvine Valley College before coaching high school and serving as the head coach for various age groups at Orange Coast Volleyball Club. He then served as a volunteer assistant coach for UCLA in the 2020-21 campaign, helping the Bruins to a 14-6 conference record and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Brunsting attended UC San Diego (2011-2014), where he recorded 1,759 assists, which ranks eighth in Triton history. He is also tied for fifth with 71 service aces, adding 414 digs, 331 kills and 122 blocks. Off the court, Brunsting was a three-time MPSF All-Academic selection.

Brunsting brings seven years of pro volleyball experience in the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) Tour where he collected 11 top-10 finishes across 35 tournaments.

Brunsting and his wife, Nicole, have two sons, Atticus and Briggs.
