A USU WIN WOULD...
Give the navy and white Aggies a win in the first-ever meeting between the teams.
Give USU head coach Gary Andersen his second-ever win over Texas A&M, after a 42-21 in 2004 when he was defensive coordinator at Utah.
Earn Utah State its first win on Texas soil since 2000... USU lost its last game in the state, 37-27 at North Texas and Utah State is 5-9-1 all-time on Texas soil.
Give USU its first road win since 2007 after losing all six road contests last season and the first road game this year.
Be USU's first win over a Big 12 school since 1992, snapping Utah State's nine-game losing skein vs. a Big 12 team.
Move Utah State to 14-13-1 all-time vs. teams from Texas, breaking a two-game losing streak vs. Lone Star state teams.
Improve USU to 8-6 in games after a bye week during the 2000's.
Snap Utah State's two-game losing skid on Sept. 19, both of which have been to a Big 12 school.
Improve USU to 4-3 on Sept. 19 all-time.
Deal Texas A&M its first-ever loss to a current WAC school, as the maroon and white Aggies are 12-0.
Turn the "A" Blue.
A USU LOSS WOULD...
Deal the navy-clad Aggies a loss in the first-ever meeting with Texas A&M.
Give USU is eighth road loss in a row overall.
Even USU's record at 7-7 in games following a bye week in the 2000's.
Deal USU its 10th-consecutive loss vs. a Big 12 school.
Move Utah State to 13-14-1 all-time vs. teams from Texas, extending its losing streak vs. Lone Star state teams to three in a row.
Be the navy and white Aggies' third-straight loss on Sept. 19, all to a Big 12 opponent.
Mean that Texas A&M is 4-3 vs. teams from Utah, as the maroon and white Aggies are 3-3 all-time vs. teams from the Beehive State (2-1 vs. Utah, 1-2 vs. BYU).
Be TAMU's baker's dozen victory vs. current WAC schools (13-0).
As always, be not as good as a win.
111 / 117 -- USU is taking the field for the 111th season of football in 117 years. The Aggies beat Utah, 12-0, in 1892, but then did not field a team until 1896, when they again only played one game but then played every year since with the exceptions of 1918 when to World War I and influenza cancelled the season and 1943 due to World War II.
TEXAS TWO-STEPPERS -- Of Utah State's 13 players from the state of Texas, eight of them are on the trip:

KING OF THE HILL -- One of the eight short and tall Texans making the trip to the Lone Star State is sophomore OT
Robert Hill... It is unknown if he is the namesake for the character Bobby Hill from the animated series "King of the Hill," however USU's Hill does have a strong resemblance to the TV Hill... The human Hill played high school football against the teams of 17 Texas A&M football players currently on the maroon and white Aggies' roster... Southlake Carroll won all the games enroute to three perfect 16-0 seasons and the Texas 5A state championships and national championships for 2004, 2005 and 2006.
BATTLE OF BAND OF BROTHERS -- Utah State has two sets of brothers on its roster: The Igboeli brothers - senior LB Paul and junior CB Washington, and the Erickson brothers, - junior OL Preston and freshman OL Parker... Meanwhile Texas A&M counters with the McCoy brothers, senior tight end Jamie and junior wide receiver Terrence... Both the Igboeli's (Grand Prairie) and the McCoy's (Midland) are from the state of Texas.
MAKIN' WILLIE PROUD AND ON THE ROAD AGAIN -- Utah State is making Texas legend Willie Nelson proud and going on the road again... USU opens with two games on the road to open the season for the second year in a row and the third time in the last four years (2006: at Wyoming, at Arkansas; 2008: at UNLV, at #18 Oregon)... Overall, this is the 28th season that the navy and white Aggies have opened with back-to-back road games, and the 29th season that they've been away from home for their first two games of the season (1978: at Osaka, Japan vs. Idaho State; at Colorado State).
Back-to-back road games to open season: 2009, 2008, 2006, 2003, 2001, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1988, 1987, 1986, 1985, 1979, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1972, 1969, 1967, 1966, 1963, 1962, 1960, 1954, 1941, 1922, 1912, 1904.
DOUBLE-DIGIT TACKLERS -- With James Brindley's 14 tackles and sophomore linebacker Bobby Wagner's career-high 12 stops in the season-opener at Utah, Utah State had a defender post double-digit tackles for the fourth-straight game and the 21st in the last 25 games dating back to last season... It was the ninth time during those 25 games that USU had two players with double-digit tackle totals.
OFFENSIVE OUTPUT IN OPENER -- Utah State's 342 yards of total offense was its most in a season-opener since 357 in 2003, which was also against Utah... The Aggie offense reached the 300-yard plateau of total offense for the second year in a row (314 at UNLV, 2008) and the fifth time in the 2000's... The 519 yards yielded by the USU defense was the most allowed in a season-opener since 582 at Texas Tech in 2000.
TRIPLE TURNOVERS -- Utah State's defense forced three turnovers in the Utah game... The Aggie defense has taken away three or more turnovers 25 times in last 104 games (.240) since the start of the 2000 season.
TURBO TURBIN JOINING ELITE COMPANY -- With his career-high 148 yards vs. Utah, sophomore running back Robert Turbin logged his second-career 100-yard outing, joining the 123 total vs. Idaho last season as a freshman... Turbin became the seventh Aggie running back to post 100 yards as a freshman... However, he joined rare company with his 100-yard outing as a sophomore, becoming just the fourth Aggie to do so... The other three: Demario Brown (4,053 yards), Abu Wilson (3,933) and Rick Parros (3,537), are numbers 1-2-3 on USU's career rushing list, respectively.
USU's FRESHMAN 100-YARD RUSHERS SINCE 1976: Rick Parros (1976), Travis Clark (1986), Abu Wilson (1992), Demario Brown (1996), John Roberts (1998), Jerod Walker (2005), Robert Turbin (2008).
USU's FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE 100-YARD RUSHERS SINCE 1976: Rick Parros (1976-77), Abu Wilson (1992-94*), Demario Brown (1996-97), Robert Turbin (2008-09). * - Wilson redshirted in 1993 with injury
BOREL CLOSING IN ON SCHOOL RECORD -- Junior quarterback Diondre Borel's 48 rushing yards vs. Utah give him 680 yards (193 att.) for his career, closing in on the USU career record for rushing yards by a quarterback of 814 yards held by Leon Jackson III (355 att., 2004-07).
Rushing Yards by a QuarterbackGame: 121, Tony Adams (12 attempts) vs. Colorado State, 1972 93, Diondre Borel (12 attempts) vs. Idaho, 2008Season: 632, Diondre Borel (179 att.), 2008Career: 814, Leon Jackson III (355 att.), 2004-07 680, Diondre Borel (193 att.), 2008-09
184 TO 2,000 -- Borel is 184 yards from 2,000 career passing yards, putting him over halfway to USU's career top 10 passing list, as No. 10 is currently held by Patrick Mullins (1995-96) with 3,759 yards.
JUST KICKIN' IT -- A new streak started with USU's first successful PAT at Utah on Sept. 3 by senior PK Chris Ulinski, who made both of his attempts... After making his first 57 in a row, Peter Caldwell missed his final attempt of last season in the Aggies' 47-2 win over New Mexico State... Caldwell is tied for sixth on USU's career PAT made list with 57 and fourth on the career PAT percentage list (57-of-58, .970)... Caldwell is also 23-of-33, .700, for career field goals, ranking seventh on the career field goals made list, eighth on the attempts list and fifth on the FG percentage list.
BOOMSKI ULINSKI -- Chris Ulinksi's WAC-leading 21 touchbacks in 2008 were three more than USU's three previous years combined total of 18 consisting of nine in `07 (by Ulinski), one in `06 and eight in `05, especially impressive since kickoffs were moved back from the 35-yard line to the 30-yard line prior to the 2007 season... Ulinski has 32 career touchbacks, currently with two in 2009.
EACH OTHER'S LAST TIME LIST -- Since this is the first-ever meeting between USU and TAMU, they don't show up on each other's "Last Time" list... Of note with Big 12 ties from USU's list for Saturday's game denote that Texas Tech was the last USU opponent to throw for over 500 yards passing (505 in 2000)... Oklahoma's Demarco Murray was the last USU opponent individual to reel off an 80-yard run for a TD (92 yards in 2007).
