Utah State's men's tennis team defeated Weber State 5-2 here on Wed. afternoon. The win gives the Aggies a 9-8 record for the spring season. This is Utah State's second win over the Wildcats this spring season after defeating them earlier in the season 7-0.

Utah State took the No. 1 and No. 3 spots in the doubles matches with Johannes Zelle and Joao Pinho defeating Sascha Kiehne and Fabio Mancarella 8-4 at the No. 1 spot. Bryan Marchant and Michael Banks took the No. 3 spot in doubles defeating Perry and Allred 8-4.

The Aggies struggled at the No. 1 and 2 spots in the singles matches which resulted in a loss but bounced back to win the rest of the singles matches. Dantley Young took the No. 3 spot defeating Mathis Saberon 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Bryan Marchant improved his singles record after defeating Zach Rideout 7-5, 7-6 at the No. 4 singles. Jonas Tyden defeated Chris Williams 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot. The Aggies earned their fifth team point with Michael Banks defeating Trevor Thompson 6-3, 6-4.

The Aggies will be in action again on Mon. April 17 at 1:30 p.m. here in Logan. Utah State will take on Idaho State which they lost to earlier in the season 4-3. The match will be held at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
