LOGAN, Utah-- - Utah State's men's tennis team lost a close match to Idaho State 4-3 here in Logan on Monday afternoon. The loss puts the Aggies at a 9-9 spring season record.
The Aggies started off strong by getting the doubles point with Johannes Zelle and Joao Pinho taking the No. 1 spot defeating Marc Pijoan and Pablo Garces 8-6. Idaho State took the No. 2 spot in doubles. Bryan Marchant and Michael Banks took the No. 3 spot defeating Ryo Sakamoto and Masimba Ruwo 8-0.
As for singles the Aggies struggled in the beginning but ended up winning the No. 5 and No. 6 spots. Jonas Tyden took the No. 5 spot defeating Alan Mohadeb 6-1, 6-0. Michael Banks took the No. 6 spot in singles defeating Idaho State's Brian Richman 6-1, 6-3.
The Aggies will be in action again on April 20 for the WAC Tournament in Boise, Idaho. The time for the tournament is TBA.
