Nov. 2, 2014 Recap | Final Stats | Notes
HONOLULU - Hawai'i Head Coach Norm Chow
Opening comment:
"I didn't think it ever got away from us. We fought like crazy but made too many mistakes. We played them pretty good in the first quarter and we made that mistake, turned the ball over. I thought we played well offensively, just didn't get in the end zone. We moved the ball a little bit. We can't turn the ball over to a good team like that."
On six sacks against QB Ikaika Woolsey:
"You knew they were going to get after us. When you play from behind, you have to take some chances and they were coming after us. They always brought one more than we could handle. But there was nothing else we could do. We were behind by three touchdowns. We had to make something happen."
Utah State Head Coach Matt Wells
Opening comment:
"We're going to look back on it and know that it was a really, really special win just because of all the circumstances. It's just a testament to our culture in the locker room right now and how they rally around each other. It's a tremendous team effort."
On freshman QB Kent Myers:
"I thought his preparation was very good for a true freshman. He's still learning how to figure it out. I thought he was very poised, he's very calm, he's very accurate and for those reasons I'm very proud of him."
On USU's defense:
"We just settled down a little bit. We relaxed a little bit and played pretty well upfront. The defensive line was able to shut down the run and control the pass a little bit, make them a little more one dimensional."
