TEAM NOTES
* Utah State is 2-0 to start a season for the third-straight season and for the 51st time in program history. USU head coach Tim Duryea is the ninth coach in Aggie history to win his first two games joining Stew Morrill (5), Dutch Belnap (3), Ladell Andersen (8), H. Cecil Baker (4), H.B. Lee (3), D.D. Young (5), Robert W. Burnett (2) and E. Lowell Romney (5).
* Utah State has now won 22 straight home openers and is 50-9 in home openers dating back to the 1957-58 season.
* Utah State improved to 34-5 all-time against Division II opponents, including a 1-0 record against Adams State.
* Utah State is now 543-125 all-time in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
* Utah State is now 2-0 on the season when leading at the half, 2-0 when scoring at least 70 points and 2-0 when out-rebounding its opponents.
* Utah State scored a season-high 83 points and shot a season-high 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from the field.
* Utah State's bench out-scored Adams State's bench, 27-18, and USU is now 2-0 on the season when its bench out-scores its opponents' bench.
PLAYER NOTES
* Senior guard Chris Smith scored in double-figures for the second time this year and 22nd time in his career with his season-high 21 points. Overall, it is Smith's fifth career 20-point game. Smith also tied his season-high with seven rebounds, marking the second time this year and 14th time in his career he has grabbed at least five rebounds in a game. Smith was 9-of-12 from the field in the game and those nine made field goals are a career-high, while his 12 field goal attempts ties his career-high.
* Junior wing Jalen Moore scored in double-figures for the first time this year and 34th time in his career with his season-high 17 points. Moore also tied his season-high with seven rebounds.
* Sophomore forward Elston Jones had a career-high eight points as he had career highs in both field goals made (4) and attempted (4) as he played a season-high 19 minutes.
* Redshirt freshman forward Quinn Taylor had season-highs in points (12), rebounds (9), assists (3) and minutes played (22). For Taylor, it was his first career double-figure scoring game.
* Sophomore guard Julion Pearre had a career-high two blocked shots and tied his career-high with two steals as he played a season-high 28 minutes.
* Senior guard Trace Cureton tied his career-high with two rebounds.
* Junior guard Shane Rector had a season-high two blocked shots.
* Redshirt senior forward Grayson Moore had season-highs in points (3), rebounds (4), assists (2), steals (2), blocks (1) and minutes played (12).
