GAME 4: Utah State vs. Idaho State

Utah State Head Coach Tim Duryea:
"This was kind of a grind-it-out, ugly win. We're obviously not at our sharpest mentally or physically. I give Idaho State a lot of credit. They had a great game planned offensively and defensively. We knew they are always tough defensively with the zone they play. They got us standing around in the first half and we were very sluggish. Offensively, I thought they really executed well. They're a well-coached team and always play us tough here. I thought our guys showed a lot of mental maturity in the second half. Our ball wasn't going in as much as we'd like it too, yet we competed hard on the offensive boards and hung in there to grind one out. You've got to win some like that throughout the year. Credit to our guys for hanging in there and lots of credit to Idaho State for a very good performance."

Utah State Junior Wing Jalen Moore:
"We came out a little flat in the first half tonight and weren't shooting as well as we wanted to. In the second half we had some people step up and were able to take the 10-point lead. We were able to hold that with guys stepping up with big shots when we needed it. We had low energy all day. It took that first half to get rid of that. We can't have that tomorrow if we want to win. It's a little tougher to wake up and have another game, rather than having some days in between. You have to come out and play. We've got these three in a row, but then we have a little bit of a break. Hopefully we'll be able to continue to push ourselves tomorrow to get the W."

Utah State Senior Guard Chris Smith:
"We came out a little slow in the first half and didn't have a lot of energy. In the second half we had Jalen's (Moore) scoring outburst and that really picked everything up with the flow of the game and our energy. We needed that to really get going and finish out. Coaches told me to do everything I could to get us to win, so that's what I'm doing."

Idaho State Head Coach Bill Evans:
"I think our shot selection was good tonight and I think we played really hard. In the second half, Utah State made a few more shots and we turned the ball over the first few times we touched it. We did some good things tonight. We stayed the course and kept playing hard, even when we were down, we didn't stop competing."
