Utah State softball's 2015 season came to and end Saturday, as the Aggies finished off a road sweep at Boise State in a 3-2 eight-inning game.

With the win, Utah State improves to 19-36 on the year, with an 11-13 Mountain West record. The 19 wins are the most by a USU team since 2010, where the team finished at 20-30. With the 11 conference wins, the Aggies have earned the most wins in league play in 19 seasons, behind the 1996 team that finished with a 17-15 conference record. With the loss, Boise State ends the year at 12-42 overall and 4-20 in Mountain West action.

The Aggies were led by senior outfielder Hailey Froton who went 2-for-5 at the plate with one run and two RBI. Senior shortstop Jolene Koons batted 1-for-2, while drawing three walks. Junior Noelle Johnson pitched the full game Saturday, ending the season with a 16-16 individual record. On the day, she allowed nine hits with the two runs, walking two batters and striking out five.

After the high-scoring games earlier in the series, the pace of Saturday's game slowed drastically. Utah State was first on the board, scoring the first run in the top of the third inning. Froton had the first hit of the inning with a single up the middle, while Koons and Johnson got on base with a walk and being hit by the pitch. With the bases loaded, sophomore designated player Alleyah Armendariz singled up the middle to score Froton.

The Broncos weren't able to answer the Utah State run until the bottom of the sixth. With a runner on second, a single to the pitcher's mound was enough to drive in a run. When neither team could score in the seventh, the game went to extra innings, Utah State's third of the year.

Utah State reclaimed the lead in the top of the eighth, when Froton hit a two-run single. In as a pinch runner, junior Kirstyn Namba scored from third, while freshman catcher Brina Buttacavoli crossed the plate from second. Froton ends the season with 48 RBI, extending her own single-season RBI record.

Boise State looked to answer the pair of runs in the bottom of the inning, but wasn't able to find the lead. With one early out, Sara Ketelsleger singled to left field, after which Shaelee Pearson entered to run for her. Pearson then advanced to second on a wild pitch, advancing to third on a single from Lindsey Nicholson. Hailey Torrez flied out to left field for the second out, but Pearson was able to cross the plate. Makenzie Sullivan became the final batter of the game and the season, as she grounded out to Johnson on the mound to end the game.
