LOGAN, Utah - On the heels of three consecutive conference losses, Utah State's men's basketball team entered Tuesday's contest against Air Force looking to get back in the win column. That's exactly what the Aggies did, thanks to a big night from junior wing Jalen Moore.

Moore had 20 points, six rebounds and six assists to propel the Aggies to a dominating 79-60 victory against the Falcons in front of 9,243 fans at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Senior guard Chris Smith added 19 points and five rebounds for Utah State (10-6, 2-3 Mountain West), which improved to 13-3 all-time against Air Force, including a perfect 8-0 mark at home.

Senior center Zach Moer had 12 points and seven rebounds to lead the Falcons (10-7, 1-3), who dropped their third straight game. Junior guard Zach Kocur added 11 points and eight rebounds for Air Force, while freshman guard Pervis Louder had 10 points off the bench.

For Moore, it was the 15th consecutive conference game - and 11th straight game this season - he has scored in double figures. Two other Aggies joined Moore and Smith in double-figure scoring as junior guard Shane Rector and sophomore guard Julion Pearre chipped in 13 and 12 points off the bench, respectively.

Eight of the nine Aggies who checked into the game scored at least one point as Utah State shot 46.4 percent from the field (26-of-56), including 26.9 percent from 3-point range (7-of-26), and a season-high 83.3 percent from the free throw line (20-of-24).

Conversely, the Falcons shot 36.8 percent from the field (21-of-57), including 40.0 percent from beyond the arc (8-of-20), and 58.8 percent from the charity stripe (10-of-17).

Utah State also won the battle of the boards, 41-32, as redshirt senior forward Grayson Moore grabbed a game-best nine rebounds, which matched his career high. Redshirt freshman forward Quinn Taylor got his first career start as an Aggie and grabbed eight rebounds. Five different Aggies pulled down at least three rebounds.

Utah State also did a good job taking care of the ball as it committed just nine turnovers, marking the fourth time this season the Aggies have had single-digit turnovers in a game.

The game was nip-and-tuck for the majority of the first half. In fact, the Falcons opened up a 24-19 lead with 7:02 remaining in the first half on a layup by Louder.

However, the Aggies countered with a game-changing 13-0 run over the next 3:19 to surge in front, 32-24. Smith scored six of his points during that stretch, while senior guard Darius Perkins ignited the run with a 3-pointer from the left corner.

After trailing by five, Utah State closed the half on a 17-4 run and led 36-28 at the break.

A layup by Smith with 18:46 remaining in the game made it 40-29 for the Aggies, who would lead by double digits the rest of the way. Smith also gave Utah State its largest lead of the night at 66-41 when he knocked down a pair of free throws with 9:05 to go.

Utah State will travel to Fort Collins, Colo., to take on Colorado State (10-6, 2-1) on Saturday, Jan. 16, in a game that will be streamed live on ESPN3 beginning at 2 p.m.
