Post-Game Notes vs. BYU (11/26/16)

TEAM NOTES
* Utah State finished with a season-low 200 yards of total offense and a season-low 11 first downs, while its 11 penalties are its second-most this season. USU also held the ball for a season-low 23:12.
* Utah State scored on its opening drive of the game for the sixth time this season, as its other five game-opening drives were all touchdowns.
* For the fourth time this year, Utah State held its opponent scoreless in the first quarter (Weber State, Arkansas State, New Mexico).
* Utah State's defense forced two first half turnovers on two interceptions and has now forced 10 turnovers this season, including seven interceptions. For USU, it is just the second time this year it has forced multiple turnovers in a game (3 vs. Arkansas State). USU has now forced 109 turnovers in its last 62 games, including at least one turnover in 48 of its last 62 games. USU has also recorded 53 interceptions in its last 49 games, including at least one pick in 26 of its last 49 games and now has multiple interceptions in 16 of its last 49 games.
* Utah State's opening drive of the game that went 64 yards in 12 plays marked the 13th time this year that USU has had a drive of at least 10 plays. It was also just its sixth drive this year that has taken at least 5:00 off the clock as USU used 5:21 in its opening drive.
* Tonight's captains are senior OL Austin Albrecht (65), senior DE Ricky Ali'ifua (95), senior NG Travis Seefeldt (70), and senior OC Austin Stephens (59).

OFFENSIVE PLAYER NOTES
*Senior OL Jake Simonich (76) played in his 53rd career game tonight, which is tied with B.J. Larsen for the second-most in school history, and trailing Jordan Nielsen, who played in a school record 54 USU games.
* Junior QB Damion Hobbs (11) recorded his sixth rushing touchdown of the season, which is tied for the team lead, on a 2-yard run in the second quarter. Overall, it is Hobbs' seventh rushing touchdown of his career.
* Junior QB Kent Myers (2) recorded his seventh rushing this season of at least 20 yards with his 28-yard carry in the second quarter. Myers was also 12-of-23 passing in the game and finished the season with 211 completions to rank ninth all-time at USU for a single season. Myers also had 145 yards of total offense to give him 2,838 yards on the year to rank 10th all-time at USU for a single season. In this game, Myers moved into sixth-place all-time at USU in total offense (5,963) and ninth all-time in pass attempts (679).
* Senior TE Wyatt Houston (83) caught a pass for the 18th straight game with his 6-yard reception in the second quarter.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER NOTES
* Redshirt junior BS Dallin Leavitt (2) intercepted his team-leading third pass of the season in the first quarter and returned its seven yards.
* Junior CB Jalen Davis (13) intercepted his first pass of the season and team-leading sixth of his career in the second quarter and returned it 37 yards. Davis also recorded his team-leading seventh pass breakup of the season in the second quarter, giving him a team-best 22 in his career.
* Senior LB Anthony Williams (16) finished the game with 12 tackles, giving him 106 for his career. For Williams, it was his fourth-straight double-digit tackle game to the end season and the fifth this year and of his career. Williams also had 1.0 sack in the first quarter, giving him 2.0 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss this season, and 2.0 sacks and 7.0 tackles for loss in his career.
* Senior DE Ricky Ali'ifua (95) had 1.0 tackles for loss in the second quarter, giving him 8.0 tackles for loss this season and 18.0 in his career.
* Senior NG Travis Seefeldt (70) had 1.0 sack in the fourth quarter, giving him 1.5 sacks and 6.0 tackles for loss this season, and 5.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss in his career.
* Junior DE Ian Togiai (19) had 1.0 sack in the fourth quarter, giving him 2.0 sacks and 3.0 tackles for loss this season, and 2.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss in his career.

SPECIAL TEAM PLAYER NOTES
* Senior PK Brock Warren (63) made a 28-yard field goal in the first quarter and is now 9-of-12 this season and 17-of-24 in his career on field goal attempts, including 4-of-4 this season and 8-of-10 in his career from 20-29 yards. Warren is also 1-of-1 on extra points in the game, and is now 35-of-36 this season on extra point attempts to rank tied for 10th all-time at Utah State for a single season. For his career, Warren is now 79-of-84 on extra point attempts, ranking sixth all-time in extra points made and tied for fifth all-time in extra point attempts with Micah Knorr (1993-96).
* Redshirt freshman PK Dominik Eberle (62) missed a 45-yard field goal in the first quarter and is now 3-of-5 this season on field goal attempts, including 1-of-3 from 40-49 yards.
* Sophomore P Aaron Dalton (89) had one punt downed inside the 20-yard line in the second quarter, giving him 18 punts this year and 45 in his career that have been downed inside the 20-yard line. Dalton also tied his season-long with a 56-yard punt in the second quarter+, giving him eight punts this year and 17 in his career of 50-plus yards.
