Jan. 6, 2018 Recap | Box Score | Notes
USU head coach Tim Duryea:
"Just a gutty, gutty effort. We got off to a great start which is always the key when you come here. You have to put yourself in it, and we did that. We got off to a really good start. Our offensive flow, we had the right amount of patience and aggressiveness, we got some things in transition. Daron Henson in the first half really kind of kept us on schedule. He kept us going. When we needed somebody to hit an open shot, he got them and he knocked them all down. Really big.
"Then in the second half, you know you're not going to come in here and just waltz away with 20 points that's not going to happen against these guys in this arena. They made their run and these guys are developing some really impressive late game, tight game, road toughness. They were calm in the huddle and poise. Koby (McEwen) and Sam (Merrill) hit some big shots in the second half and got us back and then put them away. They're a handful for us inside. We have very little answers for (Brandon) McCoy, obviously, but scored enough to get it done."
USU sophomore guard Koby McEwen:
"Great team win from start to finish. They went on a little run, but we responded, we hit back and went on that 9-0 run. We got stops at the end of the game and we happened to pull it out. It was a great road win for us."
