LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball (1-16, 1-4 MW) will wrap up its week of competition at New Mexico (5-12, 0-5 MW) on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m.
All 2019 Mountain West matches, along with all of Utah State's home matches, will be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every game. In-game updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets.
New Mexico is still seeking its first win of the conference season, sitting with a 5-12 overall record. The Lobos opened the week in a four-set home loss to Boise State. Senior outside hitter Tai Bierra leads the New Mexico attack, hitting .200 (160-63-485), while the team is hitting .172 (718-339-2,206) overall. Running a 6-2, setters Jaclyn Inclan and Maddie Freiwald are averaging 5.84 and 4.20 assists, respectively. Defensively, freshman libero Alena Moldan is averaging a team-high 3.88 digs per set, while sophomore middle Rachel Murphy leads the Lobos on the block, averaging 1.05 per set.
Coming off a three-set loss at UNLV, Utah State is hitting .130 (561-303-1,992) on the season. Sophomore middle blocker Corinne Larsen leads the team attack, hitting .194 (80-32-248). Senior setter Heidi Carpenter is averaging 6.21 assists per set, while freshman libero Grace DuBay is adding a team-high 3.11 digs per set. Junior middle Bailey Downing is the leading blocker for the Aggies, averaging 1.07 per set.
