LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball (2-16, 2-4 MW) takes on its first opponent of the week on Thursday, Oct. 17, hosting Wyoming (10-7, 5-1 MW) on Kirby Court at the Wayne Estes Center at 7 p.m.
All 2019 Mountain West matches, along with all of Utah State's home matches, will be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every match. Wyoming opens the week with a 10-7 overall record, sitting in second place in the Mountain West standings with a 5-1 league record. Junior middle blocker Jackie McBride is the top player for the Cowgirls, as she leads the team in hitting percentage (.368), kills per set (2.63) and blocks per set (1.26). Wyoming's setters, junior Mackenzie Coates and freshman Kyra Slavik are averaging 8.49 and 7.19 assists per set, respectively. Senior defensive specialist Madi Shields leads the team with 4.25 digs per set. As a team, Wyoming is hitting .220 (832-319-2,333), while holding opponents to a .196 hitting percentage.
Coming off a five-set win at New Mexico, Utah State is hitting .136 (611-20-2,138) on the season. Sophomore middle blocker Corinne Larsen leads the team attack, hitting .188 (85-35-266). Senior setter Heidi Carpenter is averaging 6.05 assists per set, while freshman libero Grace DuBay is adding a team-high 3.19 digs per set. Junior middle Bailey Downing is the leading blocker for the Aggies, averaging 1.12 per set.
