USU Volleyball Continues Week at San José State Saturday

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball (2-21, 2-9 MW) is set to wrap up its four-match road swing this weekend, playing at San José State (7-15, 2-9 MW) on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. (MT).

All 2019 Mountain West matches, along with all of Utah State's home matches, will be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every match. In-match updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets.

San José State welcomes the Aggies with a 7-15 overall record, including a 2-9 record in Mountain West play. The Spartans opened the week in a 3-0 home loss to Boise State. Senior middle blocker Thaliana Grajeda is hitting a team-best .268 (130-44-321), while sophomore middle Haylee Nelson leads the team with 2.99 kills per set. Sophomore Mamie Garard and senior Kaitlynn Zdroik share setting duties, averaging 6.12 and 6.04 assists per set, respectively. Defensively, sophomore libero Sarah Smevog leads SJSU with 4.40 digs per set, while Graje da averages a team-high 0.74 blocks per set. 

The two teams met in Logan the first week of conference play, with the Aggies securing the 3-2 victory.

Utah State is hitting .137 (766-4-7-2,617) on the season. Sophomore middle blocker Corinne Larsen leads the Aggie attack, hitting .189 (102-44-307). The Aggies run a 6-2, with senior Heidi Carpenter and freshman Kalena Vaivai averaging 5.51 and 3.90 assists per set, respectively. Defensively, freshman libero Grace DuBay is averaging a team-high 3.14 digs per set, while sophomore middle blocker Autumn Spafford is the leading the Aggies with 1.24 blocks per set.
