LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball (2-27, 2-15 MW) will wrap up the 2019 season on Saturday, Nov. 23, when it hosts Fresno State (13-16, 6-11 MW) at 1 p.m.
The volleyball match is part of an Aggie doubleheader, with the football team set to host No. 20 Boise State at 8:30 p.m. Fans that present their football ticket at the Wayne Estes Center ticket office will receive free admission to the volleyball match.
Prior to the match, Utah State will honor its three seniors Izzie Belnap, Heidi Carpenter and Ally Packard. Senior Day celebrations will begin at 12:50 p.m.
All 2019 Mountain West matches, along with all of Utah State's home matches, will be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every match. In-match updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets.
Fresno State enters the final day of competition with a 13-16 overall record, including a 6-11 ledger against conference opponents. The Bulldogs opened the week in a 3-0 loss at Boise State. As a team, Fresno State is hitting .171 (1,251-640-3,583). Freshman middle blocker Grace Doyle leads the Bulldog attack, hitting .242 (130-52-322), while junior outside hitter Desiree Sukhov is averaging 3.94 kills per set. Senior setter Madelyn Halteman is averaging 9.34 assists per set, while junior libero Reagan Leonard averages 4.48 digs per set. Doyle is also the leading blocker for Fresno State, averaging 0.91 per set.
Fresno State won the meeting between the teams in Fresno this season, 3-0.
Utah State is hitting .134 (947-512-3,253) on the season. Sophomore middle blocker Corinne Larsen leads the USU attack, hitting .210 (140-56-400). The Aggies run a 6-2, with senior Heidi Carpenter and freshman Kalena Vaivai averaging 5.22 and 3.66 assists per set, respectively. Defensively, freshman libero Grace DuBay is averaging a team-high 3.14 digs per set, while sophomore middle blocker Autumn Spafford is the leading the Aggies with 1.24 blocks per set.
