LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball closed its 2019 campaign Saturday, falling to Fresno State, 3-0, at home.
The Aggies (2-28, 2-16 MW) kept things close throughout, but the Bulldogs (14-16, 7-11 MW) were able to earn each win, 25-20, 26-24 and 25-22.
Through the first set, USU and Fresno State battled back-and-forth, keeping the score within two. The teams traded short runs in the later points of the set, but the Bulldogs had the final 3-0 run to end it. Fresno State kept its momentum to start the second set, taking a quick 9-3 lead. The Aggies responded, highlighting the set with a 5-0 run to tie the score at 22, then forcing extra points for the Bulldogs to get the win. The teams kept the third set tight early on, but Fresno State ended the match on a 10-1 run.

Izzie Belnap, who recorded nine kills while hitting a season-high .500 (9-1-16). Setters
Heidi Carpenter and
Kalena Vaivai tallied 12 assists apiece, while three Aggies had three blocks each.
As a team, USU hit .110 (28-16-109), while Fresno State hit .195 (44-22-113).
