Utah State Loses to No. 20 Boise State 56-21

LOGAN, Utah – No. 20 Boise State spoiled Utah State's Senior Day, beating the Aggies 56-21 late Saturday night on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium.
 
The Broncos' Jaylon Henderson passed for 187 yards and three touchdowns, while George Holani rushed for 178 yards and two scores, to help Boise State (10-1, 7-0 Mountain West) stay on top of the Mountain Division.
 
Junior quarterback Jordan Love was 21-of-36 for 229 yards and one touchdown, a 7-yarder to graduate transfer tight end Caleb Repp that tied the game at 7-all with 7:28 remaining in the first quarter. Repp finished the game with five catches for 47 yards.
 
Following Repp's touchdown, the Broncos scored 49 unanswered points to seize control for good.
 
Utah State (6-5, 5-2 MW) tacked on a couple of late touchdowns, a 6-yard run by senior running back Gerold Bright and a 2-yard run by sophomore quarterback Henry Colombi.
 
The Aggies finished with 428 yards of total offense, while the Broncos had 484. Utah State's top receiver on the night was junior wide receiver Jordan Nathan, who caught seven passes for 46 yards. Grad transfer wide receiver Siaosi Mariner added four receptions for 66 yards.
 
Junior linebacker Kevin Meitzenheimer led the Aggies with nine tackles, junior safety Troy Lefeged Jr. added eight, and grad student defensive end Jacoby Wildman, junior linebacker Eric Munoz and senior defensive tackle Christopher Unga had seven stops apiece.
 
Utah State honored its 15 seniors, along with former player Chance Parker, prior to the game. The Aggies are now 70-40-3 all-time on Senior Day.

Utah State will conclude the regular season next weekend when the Aggies travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to square off against New Mexico on Saturday, Nov. 30. The game, which will be streamed live on Facebook, is slated to kick off at 2 p.m.
