LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball (2-22, 2-10 MW) returns home this week, hosting New Mexico (7-17, 2-10 MW) on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m.
All 2019 Mountain West matches, along with all of Utah State's home matches, will be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every match. In-match updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets.
New Mexico opens the week with a 7-17 overall record, and is an even 2-10 with the Aggies in conference play. Senior outside hitter Tai Bierra leads the New Mexico attack, hitting .207 (241-93-716), while the team is hitting .179 (1,069-495-3,201) overall. Running a 6-2, setters Jaclyn Inclan and Maddie Freiwald are averaging 5.80 and 4.36 assists, respectively. Defensively, freshman libero Alena Moldan is averaging a team-high 3.70 digs per set, while sophomore middle Rachel Murphy leads the Lobos on the block, averaging 1.03 per set.
The teams met in Albuquerque earlier this season, with the Aggies posting a 3-2 win.
Utah State is hitting .133 (776-418-2,682) on the season. Sophomore middle blocker Corinne Larsen leads the Aggie attack, hitting .189 (105-45-317). The Aggies run a 6-2, with senior Heidi Carpenter and freshman Kalena Vaivai averaging 5.35 and 3.77 assists per set, respectively. Defensively, freshman libero Grace DuBay is averaging a team-high 3.14 digs per set, while sophomore middle blocker Autumn Spafford is the leading the Aggies with 1.24 blocks per set.
