LOGAN, Utah – Utah State volleyball (0-10) opens its final week of non-conference play at home as it hosts in-state rival Utah Valley (2-8) on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.
All 2019 Mountain West matches, along with all of Utah State's home matches, will be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every game. In-game updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets.
Utah Valley makes the trip to Logan with a 2-8 record, coming off an 0-3 performance at a tournament hosted by Hawai'i last weekend. As a team, UVU is hitting .166 (399-203-1,179), averaging 10.89 assists, 13.66 digs, 2.40 blocks per set. The Wolverine attack is led by senior middle blocker Jasmine Niutupuivaha, who is hitting .301 (57-16-136) on the year. UVU rotates two setters, where senior Madi Wardle and redshirt junior Jaysa Funk Stratton average 6.23 and 5.26 assists per set, respectively. Senior middle Makaila Jarema leads the Wolverine block, averaging 1.59 blocks per set.
Utah State is hitting .122 (331-191-1,146) on the season, led by sophomore middle blocker Corinne Larsen, who is hitting .203 (48-18-148). Senior setter Heidi Carpenter is averaging 7.47 assists per set, while junior middle Bailey Downing leads the Aggies on the block, tallying 44 this season.
Season tickets for the 2019 volleyball season are now on sale. General admission season ticket packages are available for $27, while all Utah State faculty and staff can buy a season ticket for $22. Single-match tickets for the season will be $6 for adults and $3 for youth. Tickets can be purchased through the USU Ticket Office in person, online, or over the phone at 1-888-USTATE-1 or (435) 797-0305.
