COLLEGE STATION, Texas – On Day 1 of the NCAA West Preliminary Championships, Utah State's track & field program had a trio of Aggies – all on the men's side – in action on a hot and humid Wednesday at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Kyle Morris opened the west prelims for the Aggies when he placed 34th in the first round of the men's javelin (59.97 meters/196-9). The senior from Hillsboro, Ore., then placed 36th in the first round of the shot put (16.99 meters/55-9).
In the men's 10,000 meters, senior
Luke Beattie placed 20th with a time of 29:53.09. Junior
Caleb Garnica also ran in the race, but did not finish.
Only one Aggie will compete on Thursday as senior
Maia Garren will take part in the women's shot put at 5 p.m. (MT).
