COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Utah State track & field concluded its 2021 outdoor season Saturday with four student-athletes competing on the fourth and final day of the NCAA West Preliminary Championships at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Senior
Katie Haviland, who will be back next season for cross country, and both indoor and outdoor track & field, placed 24th in the semifinals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:21.02. She was seeded 32nd coming into the West Prelims.
Just two days after shining in the shot put ring,
Maia Garren turned in another solid performance for the Aggies in the women's discus. The senior from Logan, Utah, placed 32nd with a mark of 49.48 meters (162-4), while fellow senior
Michala Zilkey finished 43rd in the event with a heave of 44.19 meters (144-11).
Graduate student
Audrey Garrett wrapped up her Aggie career by competing in the high jump, but the native of Roosevelt, Utah, did not record a height.
Sophomore distance runner
Camren Todd was slated to compete in the semifinals of the men's 5,000 meters on Friday night, but his race was moved to Saturday due to inclement weather. He placed 21st with a time of 14:06.54.
