LOGAN, Utah –
Sean Bairstow and the Aggies continued their mastery over the Lobos.
The 6-foot-8 senior guard poured in a career-high-tying 20 points to lead Utah State to an 84-73 victory over New Mexico on Wednesday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. Junior guard
Steven Ashworth added 19 points for the Aggies (18-5, 7-3 Mountain West), who have won nine of the last 10 games against the Lobos (19-4, 6-4 MW).
Utah State has won six straight overall against New Mexico. Overall, the Aggies are now 32-12 all-time against the Lobos, including a 17-2 home record.

Max Shulga finished with 13 for the Aggies.
Jamal Mashburn Jr. paced five Lobos in double-figure scoring with 17 points. Udeze Morris had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Jaelen House finished with 14 points. Josiah Allick and Javonté Johnson chipped in 10 points apiece for UNM.
Mashburn scored the first two points of the game, but New Mexico never led after that. A 3-pointer by Shulga with 19:06 remaining in the first half gave Utah State the lead for good.
The Aggies shot 46.3 percent from the field on the night (25-of-54), including 35.0 percent from 3-point range (7-of-20), and 87.1 percent from the free throw line (27-of-31).
New Mexico finished with a 49.2 percent clip from the field (29-of-59), including 36.4 percent from beyond the arc (4-of-11), and 68.8 percent from the charity stripe (11-of-16).

Taylor Funk chipped in nine points, seven rebounds and two assists for the Aggies, who outrebounded the Lobos 35-30. USU also had 13 assists on 25 made field goals.
