GAME NOTES – Utah State Men’s Basketball Takes on UNLV on the Road Wednesday

Opening Tips
• Utah State is second in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.400) and is 15th in 3-pointers made per game (9.62). USU is third in the MW and 30th in the nation in field goal percentage, shooting 47.8 percent (779-of-1,629) from the field this season.
 
• Junior guard Steven Ashworth is fifth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.447) and 14th in 3s made per game (3.71). Ashworth is the only player in the nation to make at least 90 3-pointers while shooting better than 45.0 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from deep and 80.0 percent at the free throw line.
 
• Utah State is one of 12 teams in the nation with five players averaging double figures in Ashworth (15.9 ppg), grad forward Taylor Funk (13.2 ppg), grad forward Dan Akin (12.0 ppg), junior guard Max Shulga (11.9 ppg) and senior guard Sean Bairstow (10.6 ppg). 
 
• Utah State is 19-1 this season and 35-3 under head coach Ryan Odom when scoring at least 75 points. USU is 12-0 this season and 20-0 under Odom when scoring at least 75 points at home. 
 
• Utah State has scored at least 80 points in 13 of its games, including a season-high 106 points against Westminster. Utah State is 38-10 under Odom when scoring at least 70 points. USU is a perfect 25-0 under Odom when scoring at least 80 points.
 
• Utah State has recorded all but four of its victories under Odom (36-8) when winning the battle of the boards. USU has won the rebounding battle in all but eight games this season. In total, Utah State has outrebounded opponents 1,026-907 this season.
 
• Utah State is second in the MW and 12th in the nation with 16.72 assists per game. Ashworth is fifth in the MW in assists per game (4.52), while Shulga is sixth (3.97).
 
• Utah State is 31st in the NCAA NET rankings (as of Feb. 27) and is ranked 36th by KenPom. Overall, USU is 1-4 in Quad 1 games, 5-1 in Quad 2, 12-1 in Quad 3 and 3-1 in Quad 4. 
 
Ashworth made a Mountain West-record 47-straight free throws from Jan. 13 to Feb. 21. He passed BYU's Tyler Haws, who set the record with 46-consecutive makes at the charity stripe between Feb. 13, 2010, to March 20, 2010.
 
• Utah State erased a 21-point deficit in its 75-66 home victory against Nevada. According to available records, it was the largest comeback victory in program history. The win is tied for the ninth largest comeback win in the nation this season.
 
• Utah State has been without its starting point guard in senior Rylan Jones for 13-straight games after he left the game at Boise State on Jan. 7, due to an injury. Jones had also missed three games earlier in the season due to an injury. Despite appearing in less than half of the games this season, Jones is still third on the team in assists per game (3.3) and fifth in total assists (43). He has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.69 and leads Utah State in charges drawn (14).
