Opening Tips

• Utah State is 14-7 (.667) in the Mountain West Tournament and 52-34 (.605) all-time in conference tournaments. USU is also 20-21 (.488) all-time in quarterfinal games, including a 4-5 (.444) record in the MW.

• Utah State junior guard Steven Ashworth was named first-team all-Mountain West, while fellow junior guard Max Shulga was an all-MW honorable mention selection by the league's head coaches. Graduate forward Dan Akin was also recognized by the conference as he was named the Sixth Man of the Year.

• Utah State is fourth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.401) and effective field goal percentage (.571). USU also ranks in the top 50 nationally in assists per game (16.94, 10th), field goal percentage (.486, 16th), 3-pointers made per game (9.55, 17th), free throw percentage (.770, 20th), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.41, 26th), points per game (79.06, 28th), scoring margin (+9.06, 34th), bench points per game (24.81, 41st) and defensive rebounds per game (26.74, 42nd).

• Ashworth is sixth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.450), 10th in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.04), 12th in 3-pointers made per game (3.23) and 13th in free throw percentage (.889). In fact, Ashworth is the only player in the nation at the Division I level to rank in the top 20 in each of those categories.

• Utah State is one of 15 teams in the nation with five players averaging double figures in Ashworth (16.3 ppg), grad forward Taylor Funk (13.2 ppg), Akin (12.1 ppg), Shulga (12.1 ppg) and senior guard Sean Bairstow (10.5 ppg).

• Utah State is 21-1 this season and 37-3 under head coach Ryan Odom when scoring at least 75 points. USU is 13-0 this season and 21-0 under Odom when scoring at least 75 points at home. Utah State has scored at least 80 points in 15 of its games, including a season-high 106 points against Westminster. Utah State is 40-10 under Odom when scoring at least 70 points. USU is a perfect 27-0 under Odom when scoring at least 80 points.

• Utah State has recorded all but four of its victories under Odom (37-8) when winning the battle of the boards. USU has won the rebounding battle in all but nine games this season. In total, Utah State has outrebounded opponents 1,091-965 this season.

• Utah State is 21st in the NCAA NET rankings (as of March 7) and is ranked 23rd by KenPom. Overall, USU is 1-4 in Quad 1 games, 8-1 in Quad 2, 12-0 in Quad 3 and 2-2 in Quad 4.

• Utah State has been without its starting point guard in senior Rylan Jones for 15-straight games after he left the game at Boise State on Jan. 7, due to an injury. Jones had also missed three games earlier in the season due to an injury. Despite appearing in less than half of the games this season, Jones is still third on the team in assists per game (3.3) and fifth in total assists (43). He has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.69 and leads Utah State in charges drawn (14).
