LOGAN, Utah – Utah State track & field's
Will Spence has been tabbed the Mountain West Men's Freshman of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Spence, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, placed seventh in the 800 meters at the BYU-hosted Robision Invitational with a time of 1:56.69. Spence's time ranks second among all MW freshmen this season.

Max Wehrli and graduate senior
Mica Rivera continued USU's record-breaking season, recording the third and fourth school-record marks this year. Wehrli placed fourth in the section one finals of the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:38.94, breaking the previous school record of 8:40.73 set by Colby Wilson in 2016. Wehrli's time also ranks first in the Mountain West and 10th nationally this season. Graduate senior
Mica Rivera also broke the school record in the women's 5,000 meters, finishing in 12th of the section one finals with a time of 16:10.90, breaking the school record of 16:14.46 set by Kashley Karter in 2017. Rivera's time also ranks seventh in the MW this season.
Mark Crandall also placed seventh in the men's steeplechase with a time of 8:44.86, improving upon his own personal-best time, which ranks fifth all-time at USU. Sophomore
Ana Weaver finished 16th in the women's 5,000 meters with a time of 16:28.17, moving to fifth all-time in the event in school history. In the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior
Abby Jensen placed fourth with a time of 10:17.36, while senior
Bailey Brinkerhoff finished sixth with a time of 10:42.01.
At the Robison Invitational, the Aggies registered three titles and 10 top-three finishes. Junior
Sidnee Naerebout won the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.79 meters (38-8.25), which places her ninth all-time at USU. Junior
Brennan Benson won the men's mile with a time of 4:05.33. Senior
Tori Bailey won the women's discus with a mark of 51.68 meters (169-6.75) and took third in the hammer with a mark of 55.36 meters (181-7.50).

Olivia Smith placed second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.22, while junior
Maddie Edwards took third with a time of 1:01.70. Senior
Erin McQuillen finished second in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.12 meters (16-9.50). On the men's side, junior
Kelton Chenworth took second in the high jump with a mark of 2.11 meters (6-11.00). And, sophomore
Joshua Hartvigsen and senior
Skyler Andam placed second and third, respectively, in the men's long jump with marks of 6.98 meters (22-10.75) and 6.93 meters (22-8.75).
Utah State track & field concludes its outdoor regular season this weekend at the Idaho State Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, and at the Fresno State Invitational on Saturday, April 29.
