• Utah State ranks in the top 30 in the nation in several major statistical categories, including scoring margin (1st - +40.0), scoring offense (1st - 104.0), winning percentage (1st - 1.000), assist/turnover ratio (2nd - +2.41), assists (2nd - 22.3), turnover margin (2nd - +10.5), fastbreak points (7th - 23.25), field goal percentage (7th - .557), steals (7th - 12.5), turnovers forced (75h - 19.75), 3-point percentage (13th - .433), bench points (22nd - 38.00), 3-pointers made (26th - 11.3), turnovers (26th - 9.3) and offensive rebounds (28th - 15.00).
• The Aggies are 4-0 for the 31st time in program history, while coach Jerrod Calhoun is the sixth USU head coach to win his first four games.
• Utah State is receiving votes in this week's AP Top 25 poll. The team spent 17 weeks ranked last season, climbing as high as No. 16 in the poll.
• In all four of the team's wins this season, Utah State has had fewer turnovers, more steals, and shot better from the free throw line than its opponent.
• Graduate guard Ian Martinez is averaging 22.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest while shooting 53.5 percent (23-of-43) from the floor, 56.0 percent (14-of-25) from 3-point range and 93.9 percent (31-of-33) from the charity stripe. He currently ranks as the second-most valuable player in the nation according to Bart Torvik's PORPAG ratings, and is No. 11 in best statistical output per possession according to EvanMiya.com.
• USU opened the season with three-straight 100-point performances. This was the first time in Mountain West history that a team opened a year with back-to-back-to-back 100-point games, and just the third time in program history a USU team has eclipsed the century mark in three-straight contests.
• On March 30, 2024, Jerrod Calhoun was named the 18th head coach in Utah State men's basketball history. Calhoun joins the Aggies after spending the past seven seasons at Youngstown State, where he logged a 118-106 overall record including five-straight winning seasons and three postseason appearances. Calhoun also served as the head coach at Fairmont State for five seasons, where he led the Falcons to a 124-38 record.
• Friday's game will be the fourth all-time meeting between Utah State and Iowa, a series which dates back to 1950. The Hawkeyes lead the series 3-1, including a 94-75 win in the most recent meeting between the sides on Dec. 18, 2021 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
• All-time against Big Ten opponents, Utah State is 28-44 (.389).
