• Utah State ranks in the top 30 in the nation in several major statistical categories, including scoring offense (1st - 98.6), winning percentage (1st - 1.000), scoring margin (2nd - +33.6), field goal percentage (3rd - .538), assists (4th - 21.2), steals (4th - 12.6), fastbreak points (6th - 22.80), turnover margin (6th - +8.0), turnovers forced (7th - 19.00), assist/turnover ratio (13th - 1.93), 3-point percentage (14th - .416), offensive rebounds (18th - 15.00), rebounding margin (20th - +11.4), 3-pointers made (32nd - 10.4) and bench points (33rd - 34.60).
• The Aggies are 5-0 for the 24th time in program history, while coach Jerrod Calhoun is the fourth USU head coach to win his first five games. Only one coach has ever opened his Utah State tenure with more than five-straight wins.
• Utah State is receiving votes in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches poll. The team spent 17 weeks ranked last season, climbing as high as No. 16 in the AP Poll.
• USU has won eight of its past nine MTE games, including championships two of the past three years. The Aggies won the Myrtle Beach invitational in 2021-22, and the Cayman Islands Classic in 2023-24.
• The Aggies have gone 13-2 in neutral site regular season matchups since 2021-22.
• Utah State currently leads the nation in scoring at 98.6 points per contest and scored 100-plus points in three-straight games to open the season. The Aggies also rank second nationally in scoring margin at +33.6.
• Sophomore guard
Mason Falslev was named the Mountain West Player of the Week. Last week, he scored a career-high-tying 25 points in both games. Against Montana, he went for 25 points, three rebounds, a block and a career-high five steals. Against Iowa, he posted his first-career double-double, going for 25 points, a career-high 12 rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal.
• Graduate guard
Ian Martinez is averaging 20.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest while shooting 50.0 percent (29-of-58) from the floor, 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from 3-point range and 93.9 percent (31-of-33) from the charity stripe. He ranks as the eighth-most valuable player in the nation according to Bart Torvik's PORPAG ratings.
