TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Utah State's men's cross country team took down several ranked opponents to place 13^th at this weekend's John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The 8K championship race saw a challenging field for the Aggies, with 14 ranked opponents in the race. A 328-point result pushed the squad ahead of four top-30 teams including No. 24 CBU (14^th), No. 20 Georgia (15^th), No. 26 Louisville (17th), and Mountain Region rival, No. 23 Air Force (20^th).

No. 9 BYU secured the team victory at the event, while Florida's Kelvin Cheruiyot took the individual title.

Utah State's point scorers consisted of an all-senior lineup with Garrett Woodhouse leading the charge, clocking a 24:20.1 to finish 33^rd. Woodhouse closed his race with a strong final split, making 12 passes in the last three kilometers. Jedidiah Megargel was next across the line in 47^th with a 24:29.0 followed closely by Walker Cole in 57th with a 24:32.4.  Joshua Armstrong placed 89^th in 24:53.9 while Joseph McKee rounded out the scoring five, crossing in 24:53.9 to place 102^nd.
 
UP NEXT
The women's squad takes their turn on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri. They'll rejoin the men's team the following week to compete at Idaho State's Bengal Invitational on Friday, Oct. 2.
