UTAH STATE FOOTBALL POST-GAME NOTESvs. New Mexico State (10/20/12)

TEAM NOTES
• Utah State has now scored 40-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time since the 2003 season when it scored 49 points against Arkansas State and 41 points against Middle Tennessee in consecutive home games.
• Utah State is now 6-2 to start a season for the first time since the 1978 team won seven of its first nine games. USU is also 2-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2000 team won its first four Big West Conference games. It is also the 20th time in school history that USU has won at least six games.
• Utah State has now won seven-straight WAC games dating back to last season, which is its longest conference winning streak since the 1979-80 teams won seven-straight Big West games.
• Utah State is 11-3 in its last 14 games, which is its best stretch since the 1972-73 teams combined for a 12-2 record during a 14-game stretch. • Utah State has now won six-straight home games, which is its longest home winning streak since the 1966, 1967 and 1968 teams combined to win eight-straight home games. Under head coach Gary Andersen, USU is now 14-7 at home, including a 6-6 WAC record.
• Utah State has now won at least six games in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1996 and 1997 and for just the 11th time in school history.
• Utah State is bowl-eligible for the second-straight season and Oct. 20th is the earliest USU has ever recorded its sixth win in school history bettering the 1960 team that won its sixth game on Oct. 22. Overall, it is just the eighth time in school history that USU has recorded its sixth win of the season in October joining the following teams: 1956, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1971 and 1978.
• Utah State has now out-scored its opponents 82-3 in the first quarter this season allowing only a San Jose State field goal. USU has also out-scored its opponents 144-42 in the first half this year.
• Utah State recorded its fourth interception of the season on a Will Davis INT in the second quarter.
• Utah State has now had six scoring drives this year of at least 10 plays following its 10-play scoring drive in the second quarter.
• Utah State's 516 yards of total offense is its third-most of the year as are its 256 rushing yards. USU's 260 passing yards are the fourth-most of the year.

PLAYER NOTESr
• Senior RB Kerwynn Williams' 76-yard TD reception in the first quarter was a career-long. It was his third receiving TD of the season and the third of his career.
• Senior RB Kerwynn Williams recorded his seventh rushing TD of the season and the 14th of his career with a 3-yard score in the second quarter.
• Sophomore QB Chuckie Keeton's 76-yard TD pass to K. Williams in the first quarter was his career long. Keeton has now thrown multiple TD passes six times this year and nine times in his career. Keeton now has 27 career TD passes to ranks 10th all-time in school history. Keeton also passed for over 200 yards (257) for the sixth time this year and ninth time in his career.
• Sophomore QB Chuckie Keeton's 76-yard TD run in the second quarter was a career-long. Overall, it is his third rushing TD of the season and seventh of his career. It is also his second multi-touchdown game of his career as he also had two rushing TDs at Auburn in his collegiate debut.
• Senior WR Chuck Jacobs' 49-yard TD reception in the first quarter was his team-leading fifth of the season and seventh of his career.
• Freshman RB Kelvin Lee had career-highs in both rushing attempts (5) and rushing yards (46).
• Junior CB/QB Devonta Glover-Wright had career-highs in both rushing attempts (5) and rushing yards (39). Glover-Wright also tied his career-high with two tackles.
• Redshirt freshman LB Kyler Fackrell blocked his first career kick, a 42-yard FG in the second quarter. For USU, it is its fourth blocked kick of the year as sophomore LB Zach Vigil blocked a punt against Utah; redshirt freshman DL Jordan Nielsen blocked an extra point at Wisconsin; and junior DL Paul Piukala blocked a 34-yard FG at BYU.
• Sophomore LB Zach Vigil recorded his fifth sack of the season.
• Senior CB Will Davis recorded his first career interception in the second quarter that he returned 35 yards.
• Junior LB Jake Doughty recorded double-digit tackles (10) for the second time this season and second time in his career.
• Senior LB Bojay Filimoeatu forced his second career fumble. Filimoeatu also had a career-high three quarterback hurries.
• Sophomore LB Tavaris McMillian recorded his first career sack.
• Junior DL A.J. Pataiali'i recovered his first career fumble.
• Redshirt freshman LB Michael Okonkwo recorded his first career sack. Okonkwo also had a career-high two tackles.
• Sophomore S Frankie Sutera tied his career-high with five tackles.
• Senior P Tyler Bennett had three punts downed inside the 20, giving him 23 on the season.
• Senior WR Cameron Webb had a career-long 44 yard punt return in the third quarter. It is USU's longest punt return since Oct. 20, 2007 when Kevin Robinson had a 70-yard punt return for a TD at home against Nevada.
• Redshirt sophomore PK Nick Diaz kicked a career-long 53 yard FG on his first career FG attempt. That 53-yarder ranks tied with Jim Murphy (1967 vs. West Texas State) as the eighth-longest FG in school history and the longest since Chris Ulinski made a 56-yard FG against New Mexico State at home in 2008. Overall, Diaz was 2-for-3 on FGs during the day as he also made a 48-yarder and was 5-of-5 on PATs, while his 44-yard attempt in the fourth quarter was blocked.
