LOGAN, Utah - UTAH STATE FOOTBALL Post-Game Notes vs. New Mexico (11/15/14)
TEAM NOTES * Utah State won its eighth game of the season and is now tied with the 1953, 1962, 1963, 1965, 1971 and 1974 teams for the sixth-most wins in school history.
* Utah State has now won eighth straight home games and 17 of its last 19 home games overall, which includes 11 of its last 12 conference home games. Under head coach Matt Wells, USU is now 9-2 at home including a 6-1 league record.
* Utah State has now won 10 of its last 11 Mountain West games and 23 of its last 25 league games overall. All-time, USU is now 12-2 in Mountain West play.
* Utah State has now won 14-straight games in November and 18 of its last 20 November games overall, with its last November loss coming in 2010.
* The 21 points allowed by Utah State are its most since losing at Arkansas State, 21-14, in overtime on Sept. 20, a span of eight games.
* Utah State is now 9-1 during the last two seasons with a freshman at quarterback as freshman QB
Kent Myers is now 3-0 as a starter this season.
* New Mexico's TD following an INT is just the second TD scored on Utah State's defense in the past 10 games following a USU turnover. Overall, USU has allowed just two TD's and one FG following 11 turnovers during its last 10 games.
* Utah State is now 4-0 on the season and 5-0 under head coach Matt Wells when tied at the end of the first quarter. USU is also 8-0 this year and 16-2 under Wells when scoring at least 20 points.
* Utah State's 272 rushing yards are a season-high and its most rushing yards since it rushed for 337 yards at New Mexico last season.
* New Mexico's 246 rushing yards are the most allowed by Utah State this season and its most allowed since Nevada rushed for 394 yards in 2010.
* New Mexico's 154 passing yards are a season-low for a Utah State opponent and the fewest allowed by USU since Colorado State passed for 147 yards last year.
* The 72-yard TD run by New Mexico is the longest allowed by Utah State this season and the longest since the 2007 season when Oklahoma had a 92-yard TD run. The previous season long allowed by USU was 27 yards.
* Utah State has now forced 28 turnovers in its last 10 games (18-INT, 10-FR) with its first-half INT and has now intercepted 35 passes in its last 21 games, and has now recorded 75 turnovers in its last 34 games. Overall, USU has now forced at least one turnover in 32 of its last 34 games and has intercepted at least one pass in 15 of its last 17 games.
* Utah State has now led at the half in 31 of its last 39 games and is 27-4 in those games.
* Utah State's senior class won its 35th game today to extend its own school record. The previous record was 31 wins set last season.

PLAYER NOTES * Freshman RB
LaJuan Hunt scored his first career rushing TD in the first quarter on a 1-yard run. Hunt also had a career-long rush of 47 yards in the first quarter.
* Junior WR
Devonte Robinson scored on a 59 yard TD rush on his first career rushing attempt.
* Sophomore TE
Wyatt Houston caught his second TD pass of the season and fourth of his career on a 10-yard reception in the second quarter. Houston also had a season-long reception of 30 yards in the game to go along with a career-high 54 receiving yards.
* Junior WR
JoJo Natson recorded his second rushing TD of the season and fifth of his career on a 48-yard run in the third quarter.
* Freshman QB
Kent Myers had one TD pass in the game and now has four TD passes on the season. He also had season-highs in both rushes (10) and rushing yards (39). Myers also attempted a season-high 21 passes.
* Senior SS
Frankie Sutera intercepted his seventh pass of the season and eighth of his career. Those seven interceptions by Sutera are tied with Ronald Edwards (1991) and Henry King (1965) for the third-most in a single-season in school history. Those seven interceptions are also the most in a single-season since 1991 when Edwards had seven picks.
* Sophomore LB
Nick Vigil had 13 tackles for his fourth double-digit tackle outing of the season and his career.
* Senior LB
Zach Vigil had 10 tackles for his sixth double-digit tackle outing of the season and the 17th of his career. With this 10 tackles, Vigil has tied Johndale Carty (1995-98) for eighth-place all-time in school history with 347 career tackles.
* Senior DE
B.J. Larsen record 1.0 sack and now has 7.0 sacks this year and 15.0 in his career.
* Freshman CB
Jalen Davis tied his career-high with seven tackles.
* Senior FS
Brian Suite tied his career-high with two pass breakups.
* Senior P
Jaron Bentrude had four punts downed inside the 20-yard line giving him 29 punts this year and 60 punts in his career downed inside the 20-yard line. Benturde has also had three punts downed inside the 10-yard line, giving him eight punts this year and 18 punts in his career downed inside the 10-yard line. Bentrude also had a 50-yard punt in the game, as he now has 11 50-yard punts this year and 17 in his career.
