MIDLAND, Texas - Utah State men's tennis wrapped up doubles play on Saturday at the Midland Invitational, but two Aggies will face each other Sunday in the singles consolation finals.

In doubles action, seniors Jaime Barajas and Andrew Nakajima defeated Wichita State's Andrea Caligiana and Miroslav Herzan 7-5 in the quarterfinals, but lost 6-4 in the semifinals. Junior Samuel Serrano and sophomore Sergiu Bucur lost 6-0 to TJC's Jorge Martinez and Marcus Walers in the doubles round of 16.

Nakajima played two singles matches during the day, winning 6-4, 6-3 to Texas Tech's Jackson Cobb, but lost 7-5, 7-5 to Rice's Jacob Eskeland. Bucur also played two singles matches, with a 6-3, 2-6, (10-7) victory over ACU's Moccianu. Bucur lost to San Diego's Alexandros Araouzous 6-4, 6-2.

In the consolation bracket, Barajas defeated UTA's Mauricio Del Rio 6-1, 7-6, TJC's Marcus Walters 7-5, 6-2 and San Diego's Nico Borter 6-1, 6-2 to advance to Sunday'sfinals. Serrano also won all three of his matches, with victories over Wichita States' Miroslav Herzan 6-4, 7-5, San Diego's Alex Reyna 6-4, 6-4 and Rice's Oscar Janglin 6-3, 4-6, 10-7. The two Aggies will compete in the final tomorrow.
