TEAM NOTES
* Captains for tonight's game were senior OT Kevin Whimpey, junior LB Jarom Baldomero, sophomore OG Austin Albrecht and sophomore FS Devin Centers.
* Utah State improved to 4-51 all-time against Associated Press ranked teams, and No. 18 BYU is the highest ranked opponent USU has ever defeated as its previous best was a 48-41 overtime win at No. 19 Louisiana Tech in 2012.
* Utah State is now 5-1 following a loss and 4-0 following a bye or multiple weeks off under current head coach Matt Wells. Overall, USU has now won six of its last seven games following a loss and has lost back-to-back games just once in its last 38 games dating back to 2011.
* Utah State has now won three of its last four games against ranked opponents dating back to 2012 and is 2-1 against ranked teams under current head coach Matt Wells.
* Utah State snapped a 17-game road losing streak at BYU dating back to the 1978 season when it defeated BYU on the road, 24-7. Overall, USU is now 35-46-3 against BYU including a 17-27-1 road record.
* The 35 points scored by Utah State tonight are the most in the series since it lost to BYU, 42-35, in Provo in 1997 a span of 13 games.
* Utah State's 35 wins against BYU are its second-most against any opponent, trailing only its 36 wins against Wyoming.
* Utah State has now won 12 of its last 20 road games and is now 5-5 in road games under current head coach Matt Wells including a 1-2 record this year.
* Utah State's 13-play, 88-yard scoring drive in the second quarter is its longest of the season in terms of plays and yards, bettering its 10-play, 85-yard scoring drive in the first quarter.
* Utah State's two 10-play drives are its most in a game since it had three 10-plus play drives against Hawaii last season.
* Utah State's three 80-yard scoring drives are the most in a game since it had three against Hawaii last year.
* Utah State forced four turnovers tonight with a fumble recovery and three interceptions, and has now forced 15 turnovers in its last four games and 62 turnovers in its last 28 games. Overall, USU now has 26 interceptions in its last 15 games.
* Utah State did not commit a turnover for the first time this year and for the first time in its last nine games when it did not have a turnover against Colorado State last year.
* Utah State had a season-high 457 yards of total offense and possessed the ball for a season-high 37:51.
* Utah State has led at the half in 26 of its last 33 games and is 22-4 in those outings.
* Utah State has now won 15 of its last 16 games when it rushes the ball at least 40 times. USU had 46 rushing attempts tonight.

PLAYER NOTES
* Utah State had one player make their first career start tonight in junior LB Torrey Green.
* Senior NG Elvis Kamana-Matagi recorded his first career sack.
* Junior WR Devonte Robinson caught his first two career TD passes. Robinson also had a career-high six receptions for a career-best 98 yards.
* Sophomore QB Darell Garretson has tied his career-high with three TD passes, giving him six TD passes on the season and 16 on his career. Garretson also scored his first career rushing TD from five yards.
* Sophomore QB Darell Garretson recorded his third 300-yard passing game of his career and the second this season with his 321 passing yards.
* Junior NG Travis Seefeldt recovered his first fumble of the season and second of his career.
* Junior WR Hunter Sharp caught his third TD pass of the season. Sharp also had five receptions for 173 yards, for this third-straight 100-yard receiving. Overall, Sharp is the first Aggie with three-straight 100-yard receiving games since Kevin Curtis also had three-straight 100-yard receiving games in 2002. Also, the 173 receiving yards for Sharp are the most since Kevin Curtis had 177 receiving yards in 2002.
* Sophomore LB Nick Vigil had a career-high 16 carries for a career-best 57 yards. Vigil had never had a rushing attempt prior to tonight's game. Vigil also scored his first career TD on a 1-yard run.
* Senior RB Joe Hill tied his career-high with 18 carries.
* Senior LB Zach Vigil had five tackles, giving him 275 in his career and tying him with Paul Igobeli (2006-09) for 18th-place all-time in school history.
* Junior LB Torrey Green intercepted his first career pass in the third quarter. Green also recorded his third sack of the season and his career.
* Freshman CB Jalen Davis had a career-high five tackles and recorded his first-career TFL.
* Sophomore FS Devin Centers intercepted his first career pass in the third quarter. Centers also had a career-high two pass breakups.
* Junior CB Bryant Hayes recorded his first career TFL.
* Senior SS Frankie Sutera intercepted his third pass this season and fourth of his career in the fourth quarter.
* Junior WR JoJo Natson became just the 17th player in school history to record 100 career receptions with his five catches tonight as he now has 101 career receptions.
* Senior P Jaron Bentrude had two punts downed inside the 20-yard line, giving him 15 punts downed inside the 20-yard line this year and 46 in his career.
