DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD/CROSS COUNTRY ARTIE GULDEN
"I am really proud and grateful to coach these guys. They've taken us on a great ride. We are certainly thrilled to have qualified for the NCAA Championships, but the guys aren't satisfied and they're ready to compete well on Saturday. We will talk about a race plan and, if they are able to execute as they have all season, Saturday will be a special end of the season for us."

FAMILY MATTERS
Junior
Logan Garnica won second-team all-conference honors at the 2024 Mountain West Championships on Nov. 1, finishing 13th overall in the men's 8K. His older brother, Caleb, collected all-conference honors each year from 2019-2021, including a first-overall finish in 2020. Logan and Caleb are the first set of Aggie siblings to each earn all-conference honors since football standouts Zach and Nick Vigil each earned two all-conference awards from 2013-2015.

YOUTH MOVEMENT
Five Aggies claimed Mountain West Men's Freshman of the Week honors this season. Freshman
Jedidiah Megargel won the first weekly honors following his seventh-place finish in the Utah State Alumni Challenge on Aug. 31. Two weeks later, freshman
Luke Stockett claimed the award thanks to a 21st-place finish in the BYU Autumn Classic on Sept. 13. Next, freshman
Michael Moffat won the award following his seventh-place finish at the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 21. After him, freshman
Joshua McKee claimed the honors after a 14th-place finish at the Paul Short Run on Oct. 5. Finally, freshman
Joshua Armstrong claimed the Freshman and Athlete of the Week honors with his third-place finish at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational on Oct. 11. Utah State is the first cross country program in Mountain West history to claim a given individual honor five consecutive times, and the first Mountain West program in any sport to have five different athletes claim the same honor in consecutive weeks.

HOW SWEEP IT IS
Aggie runners swept the Mountain West's weekly awards on Oct. 15, with freshman
Joshua Armstrong winning Men's Athlete and Freshman of the Week, senior
Sammi Lee winning Women's Athlete of the Week, and freshman
Ava Trimble winning Women's Freshman of the Week. It was the first time that any school had claimed all four cross country awards since the conference began awarding Freshman of the Week honors in 2021. These individual honors came after Utah State swept the team titles at the USU-hosted Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational on Oct. 11.
