USU vs. Hawai'i Game Stats

Kent Myers threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns in his first career start and freshman RB
LaJuan Hunt rushed for a career-high 150 yards to lead Utah State to a 35-14 road win at Hawai'i Saturday night in Mountain West play.
Utah State (6-3, 3-1 MW) won its 12th-straight game in November and improved to 10-2 all-time in Mountain West play with the win against Hawai'i (2-7, 1-3 MW).
Myers completed his first 12 passes and finished the night 14-of-15 passing for 186 yards with three first-half touchdowns, while Hunt carried the ball a career-high 33 times in posting the most rushing yards by an Aggie (150) since 2012 and the most by an Aggie freshman since 1992.
Hunt also caught two passes for 44 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown in the third quarter on a pass by senior WR Ronald Butler. Butler finished the game with a career-high six receptions for 79 yards with one touchdown, and was 1-of-1 passing for 44 yards and a touchdown, while junior WR Hunter Sharp had three receptions for 77 yards, including a pair of first quarter touchdowns.
Utah State finished the game with a season-high 465 yards of total offense, passing for 230 yards and rushing for another 235, its second-most in a game this season. Hawai'i had 454 yards of total offense (356-passinng, 98-rushing), the most given up by USU this year.
Senior LB Zach Vigil led the Aggie defense as he finished the night with 12 tackles, including a career-high 3.0 sacks, while also forcing a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. In all, Utah State's defense finished the game with 6.0 sacks and forced three turnovers in the game as senior SS Frankie Sutera intercepted two passes and sophomore SS Devin Centers recovered a fumble that he returned 10 yards for a touchdown. With his 12 tackles, Vigil moved into 10th place all-time in school history with 329 career tackles.
Both teams produced touchdowns on its first two drives of the game as USU scored on a 6-yard pass from Myers to Sharp to open the contest and then scored on a 70-yard pass from Myers to Sharp on its second series. Hawai'i scored its first touchdown on an 8-yard run by Diocemy Saint Juste and then scored on a 1-yard pass from Ikaika Woolsey to Justin Vele to make the score 14-14 after the first quarter.
Utah State added two more touchdowns in the second quarter as Vigil's sack and forced fumble led to USU's third defensive touchdown of the season as Centers picked up the fumble and ran 10-yards for the score. Myers added his third touchdown pass of the first-half with 6:37 to play in the quarter as he connected with Butler for a 39-yard strike on a third-and-21 play.
The only points scored in the second half was on a 44-yard pass from Butler to Hunt to cap a 9-play, 98-yard drive that took 4:41 off the clock, a drive that was extended following a roughing the kicker penalty on Hawai'i as the Aggies were punting from its own end zone.
Woosley finished the game 26-of-46 passing for 356 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, while Stephen Lakalaka had 57 rushing yards on 11 carries.
Utah State will continue Mountain West play next weekend at Wyoming on Friday, Nov. 7 in a game that will be nationally televised on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. (MT).
