Utah State Track & Field Wins Men’s 4x100-Meter Relay at Weber State Spring Open

OGDEN, Utah — Through snow, wind and rain, Utah State track & field won the men's 4x100-meter relay and accumulated eight top-five finishes in the Weber State Spring Open at Stewart Stadium on Friday.

Freshman Joseph Douglas, sophomore Rylan Anderson, sophomore Carter Guiness and junior Kelton Chenworth delivered Utah State's lone title of the day with a time of 42.74 in the men's 4x100-meter relay.

The Aggie women took second with a time of 47.75 in their 4x100-meter relay. Freshman Claire Petersen, senior Autumn Kidd, senior Abbey Bryant and senior Olivia Smith ran the relay.

Senior Alyssa McNutt finished fifth in the women's hammer with a mark of 49.74 meters (163-2.25).

In the women's 100-meter hurdles, Utah State tallied four of the top 10 spots. Sophomore Krysthina Vlahovic placed fourth with a time of 14.33, Bryant finished fifth with a time of 14.35, junior Maddie Edwards took sixth with a time of 14.40 and Smith came in at ninth with a time of 14.87.

Freshman Elle Jacobson finished fourth in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.49 meters (18-0.25).

In the women's high jump, freshman Viann Robinson tied for fourth by clearing 1.54 meters (5-0.75).

Freshman Sara Abbott placed fifth in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:41.58.

In the women's 400 meters, junior Adi Nielson took fifth with a time of 57.18.

Some events, including both discus events, were scratched due to weather conditions.

Tomorrow, the Aggies will compete at the Utah Spring Classic at the McCarthey Family Track & Field Complex in Salt Lake City. The meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the University of Utah is serving as the host institution.
