LOGAN, Utah — Utah State track & field field won two individual titles, earned 10 podium finishes and posted four top-10 performances in school history at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, and the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, from Thursday-Saturday, and the UVU Collegiate Invitational in Orem, Utah, on Friday.
"We had a good weekend at both UVU and Texas," said
Artie Gulden, USU's director of track & field and cross country. "The women making the final and placing fifth in the 4x400-meter relay at the Texas Relays was fantastic. I'm super pleased with Walker (Deede)'s javelin and Javin (Richards)'s vault results. We need to work on a number of things in all event groups to get ready for next week, which will be another big weekend for the team."

Emma Reeves set and re-set the sixth-best time in Utah State history in the event. The quartet ran their preliminary race on Friday in 3:41.82 to place ninth and qualify for the finals. On Saturday, they clocked in at 3:41.73, shaving .09 seconds off their previous run and placing fifth in the finals.
Sophomore
Walker Deede continued his strong outdoor campaign by throwing 68.63 meters (225-2) in the men's javelin throw to place seventh at the Texas Relays on Friday. His performance vaulted him from eighth to fifth in the Aggie top-10 all-time list.
USU pole vaulters had a strong showing in the men's competition at the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday. Junior
Javin Richards jumped 5.30 meters (17-4.75) to place second in the competition and move into fourth all-time in USU history. Junior
Marshall Rasmussen finished fourth in the event, with his clearance of 5.15 meters (16-10.75) also tying him for ninth in the Aggie record book.
On a blustery Friday in Orem, junior
Krysthina Vlahovic picked up her first individual title of the season in the women's 100-meter hurdles, running in a time of 13.86. Sophomore
Claire Petersen followed her in third place with her time of 14.30.
In her first competition since the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Mountain Regionals, senior
Ana Weaver posted a time of 17:36.4 to win the women's 5,000 meters. Her time was almost 20 seconds clear of the second-place runner in the race.
Sophomore
Bryce Hill ran his first career 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:19.63 to secure a runner-up finish in the event.
Freshman
Ethan Peterson placed third in the men's mile with a time of 4:09.09 in his collegiate debut.
Senior
Joshua Hartvigsen finished second in the men's long jump competition with a jump of 7.02 meters (23-0.5), a performance that was three centimeters shy of his personal best set as a freshman in 2022.
Freshman
Brenly Douglas added a podium finish by placing second in the women's 100 meters with a time of 12.15. She also teamed up with Vlahovic, Petersen, and freshman
Natalie Hadlock to finish fourth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 48.26.
Junior
Milly Garren finished third in the women's shot put, uncorking a throw of 14.34 meters (47-0.5). The Logan native also led the Aggie contingent in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.59 meters (165-11.75).
Utah State will head west next weekend to the Stanford Invitational and UNLV Rebel Elite on Friday-Saturday, April 4-5.
