RECORD SCRATCH
Utah State opened the 2025-26 indoor season with a record-setting performance at the BYU December Invitational from Dec. 10-11. Hammer, senior Javin Richards and Ross broke school records in the men's pole vault (5.63 meters (18-5.5), men's heptathlon (5,536 points) and women's 60 meters (7.48), respectively. Ojo became the fourth Aggie to set a school record in 2025-26 when he ran the 60 meters in 6.55 at the Snake River Open on Jan. 16, topping both the Utah State record of 6.61, set in 2014, and the MW record of 6.60, set in 2015. Bott broke the men's 800-meter school record in front of the Aggie faithful at the Roman Ruiz Speed and Power Invitational on Jan. 30, crossing the line in 1:47.79. Three records fell on the final weekend of the regular season, as junior Shelby Jensen broke the program record in the women's 3,000 meters with a time of 9:21.31 and sophomore Jayden Holdsworth ran USU's first-ever four-minute mile of 3:59.90 at the Husky Classic while Bott broke his own 800-meter record by finishing in 1:47.55 at the Tyson Invitational.

RUNNING IT BACK
Utah State enters the indoor season returning seven All-Mountain West performers from last year as the Aggie men placed third at the 2025 MW Indoor Championships with 109 points and the women finished eighth with 43 points.

Hammer and junior Landon Bott claimed MW titles in 2025, with Bott winning the 800 meters in 1:52.38 and Hammer winning his second-straight pole vault title with a clearance of 5.52 meters (18-6.5). The USU men's distance medley relay team earned all-conference honors for its 9:42.46 time, taking second place at the MW Indoor Championships, as Bott and seniors Ernest Green and Samuel Green return from that group. Ernest Green also earned all-conference honors as he won silver in the 800 meters with a time of 1:52.59. Sophomore Diego Aguirre-Stewart took silver in the 200 meters, clocking in at 20.93. Sophomore Taite Priestley earned his first career All-MW honors in the high jump, tying for bronze with a height of 2.04 meters (6-8.25). Senior Marshall Rasmussen joined Hammer on the pole vault podium, winning silver with a jump of 5.21 meters (18-1.25).

Hammer won two Mountain West Men's Field Athlete of the Week awards last season. Sophomore Daniel Chase won MW Men's Track Athlete of the Week once and MW Men's Freshman of the Week twice, while Aguirre-Stewart and Gray each won MW Freshman of the Week honors once.

WELCOME TO LOGAN
Utah State track and field welcomed six transfers (two men, four women) and 22 freshmen (10 men, 12 women) to the program this season. 14 of the 28 newcomers (six men, eight women) are entered to compete at the MW Indoor Championships.

ROAD TO NATIONALS
In addition to conference honors, Utah State student-athletes have their eyes on qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Mar. 13-14. Three Aggies currently rank among the top-16 athletes nationally in their event, which would qualify them for the national championships. Bott ranks sixth in the nation in the men's 800 meters with a standardized time of 1:45.72, Ojo ranks 10th in the men's 60 meters with an altitude-adjusted time of 6.57 and Hammer ranks 13th in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 5.63 meters (18-5.5).

LAST MEET
Utah State student-athletes claimed six titles, 12 podium finishes and posted 12 performances ranking in USU's top 10 all-time, including three program records, at the Arkansas-hosted Tyson Invitational, the New Mexico-hosted Don Kirby Elite Invitational, the Idaho State-hosted Mountain States Games and the Washington-hosted Husky Classic.
