A three-year starter at defensive tackle from 1965-67, Bill Staley was named to several All-America teams after recording 132 tackles (33 solo, 99 assisted) as a senior. The Walnut Creek, Calif. native earned the nickname "The Spoiler," after his outstanding performance at Nebraska in 1966. Staley helped the Aggies rank among the national leaders in rushing defense for three-straight seasons. He also earned All-America honors in track after finishing third in the discuss at the 1967 NCAA Championships. Staley played in the NFL for four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals (1968-69) and the Chicago Bears (1970-71).
