Dr. John Worley followed his father Clyde to USU and competed in both football and track in the late 1940s. He scored the game-winning touchdown against Utah in 1946. Worley was involved with all six bowl games in school history as he was a player on the 1946 and 1947 bowl teams, and then served as the team physician for the other contests. In all, he was the Utah State team physician for 42 years before retiring in 1998.

Worley passed away on March 24, 2016 at the age of 90.
