ELMER "BEAR" WARD

Elmer "Bear" Ward became Utah State's first-ever All-American athlete in 1934, earning first-team honors in football. Ward was a two-time all-conference center in football in 1933 and 1934. He earned three letters in football (1932-34) and one in track (1935). Ward, who spent two years in the NFL, was a member of the 1935 World Champion Detroit Lions team.
Ward died on March 26, 1996 at the age of 83.
